Ex-Liverpool Star Will Rejoin Former Club This Summer

The 34-year-old has spent three season in Turkey with Fenerbahce after joining from Liverpool in 2012.

The Dutchman enjoyed a successful period on Merseyside, scoring 71 goals during his six years at Anfield.

However, he will now be heading back to Feyenoord as he returns to the club Liverpool signed him from for £10m in 2006.

"I'm coming home after the summer and I can't wait to play again in De Kuip," Kuyt told the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

"Feyenoord have always been a draw. We talked about a return when I left Liverpool but it didn't happen."

Arsenal Ready £25m Bid For Serie A Ace

Arsenal are prepared to pay £25m to secure the signature of Palermo striker Paulo Dybala, according to reports in Italy.

Arsene Wenger continues to be linked with a move for the Argentine striker who has been earning rave reviews in Serie A this season.

Louis Van Gaal 'Dreaming' Of first Manchester Derby Victory

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says he has been dreaming of claiming his maiden Manchester derby victory this weekend.

City head to Old Trafford on Sunday having inflicted defeat on the Dutchman in his opening derby meeting, a 1-0 win in November, and the showdown offers more than just bragging rights for the victors.

United sit a point and a place above their rivals in third in the table with competition for eventual league standigns at stake, and van Gaal is aware of the euphoria the derby creates in Manchester.

“I dream of it, every player shall dream of the victory. I am not so often in the city, but when I am, the people are talking about the derby,” said the United boss.

“I like it. You play football for the fans and I hope we can give our fans the victory. All the players understand the meaning of a victory and I know it also."

A victory for the blue half of Manchester at the weekend would set a new record of five straight derby victories for City, but van Gaal says he is not concerned by Manuel Pellegrini’s side’s recent dominance.

He said: “That's not my history. What can I say? We have lost 1-0. That is my history, the last game we played against them and we had a red card in the 39th minute, I believe.

“In such games always you have to control your aggression and we did not do that then so I hope we have learned from that moment.''

City have struggled of late and United go into the game as slight favourites after a run of five successive league victories, but van Gaal believes form is irrelevant in derby fixtures.

“'Manchester City has lost several games, but I don't think that shall be a big influence in the game because it is a special game,” said the 63-year-old.

The Dutch manager has confirmed that striker Robin Van Persie is not fit enough to return to the squad, whilst left back Luke Shaw is also definitely out.

Mascherano: I want Dani Alves & Xavi to stay at Barcelona

Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano has admitted that he wants both Dani Alves and Xavi to stay at Camp Nou.

Dani Alves looks set to leave the Blaugrana after seven stellar years of service, with the Brazilian's agent having announced on Thursday that his client had found the Catalan club's most recent contract offer "unsatisfactory".

Xavi, meanwhile, is undecided on his next step after recently travelling to Qatar to hold talks with Al Sadd about a possible summer switch.

Mascherano, though, is praying that both players are still a part of the Barca squad next season.

“Dani Alves has been one of the best players this club has ever had," the Argentine is quoted as saying by the club's official website. "He’s a great performer.

"I’d like him to stay. He’s an amazing person, a real fun guy and very professional."

As for Xavi, Mascherano says that the veteran midfielder still has so much to offer, both as a player and role model.

“I wasn’t surprised that Xavi got a standing ovation against Almeria [on Wednesday]," the versatile centre-half added. "He has had many ovations because of what he represents to this institution.

"He holds the record for the most titles won with FC Barcelona and is one of the biggest heroes in the history of the club.

"It would be great if he could stay here because of all he offers. He is everything being an FC Barcelona player is about – the way he behaves and the example he sets for youngsters."

Dani Alves' current contract with Barca expires this summer, while Xavi still has a year to run on his deal with the Liga leaders.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has not given up on retaining the Premier League title and wants to put pressure on leaders Chelsea with victory in the Manchester derby on Sunday.

Japanese news agency Kyodo News says the FC Tokyo player is yet to decide whether to move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The 22-year-old, capped 11 times, has scored three times in four games at the start of the new J-League season.

Muto, who scored 13 times last season and was named in the league's select XI, played for Japan during their run to the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup.
