PSG Make Progress In Bid To Land Arsenal And Swansea Target

Paris Saint-Germain have made progress in their bid to sign Ivory Coast defender Serge Aurier, who has been linked with a trio of Premier League clubs
Paris Saint-Germain have made progress in their bid to sign Ivory Coast defender Serge Aurier, who has been linked with a trio of Premier League clubs.

Now sources in France claim the French champions will trump Arsenal, Swansea City and QPR as they are close to reaching an agreement with Toulouse to sign the defender.

PSG’s cash-plus-player proposal, which includes a fee of £7m and the services of midfielder Clement Chantome, is reportedly superior to any offers Toulouse have received from England in recent weeks. Chantome, the 26-year-old PSG midfielder, spent last season on loan at Toulouse.

Newcastle Finally Get Their Man! French Star Arrives In £12m Deal

Newcastle finally get their man! French star arrives in £12m deal
Newcastle United have finally completed the signing of Montepellier's Remy Cabella for a reported £12million.

The Magpies have been chasing the attacking-midfielder since January as a replacement for Yohan Cabaye and finally made a breakthrough on Sunday as the French international signed a six-year deal.

Cabella becomes Alan Pardew's fourth summer acquisition after Siem de Jong, Jack Colback and Ayoze Perez.

The French star told the club's official website: "It is great to finally be a Newcastle player. This is a move that I really wanted to make as I have heard nothing but good things about Newcastle United from everyone I spoke to.

"I wanted to join a great English club and that is why I have arrived here. I'm looking forward to pulling on the shirt and playing in this magnificent stadium, and I will give this club my maximum."

Montepellier president Louis Nicollin had revealed 48 hours earlier that a deal was practically done but Newcastle remained cautious as they waited to confirm the transfer.

But after Cabella - who replaced the injured Franck Ribery in France's World Cup squad but saw no action - jetted into Tyneside the move was finally concluded.

And Pardew is hoping the 24-year-old's arrival along with De Jong will compensate for the loss of Cabaye and last season's on-loan top scorer Loic Remy.

Pardew said: "Remy [Cabella] is a player who has been on our radar for a while and we are delighted to bring him to the club.

"He is a player who I am sure will excite our fans. He has flair, hard work and commitment, and is going to bring a talent, energy and quality to St James' Park that our supporters will enjoy.

"Remy has great ideas when the ball comes to him, and along with Siem de Jong is going to improve an area where we definitely needed some help."

Newcastle look primed to continue being busy in the transfer market as they chase a striker with Monaco's Emmanuel Riviere heavily linked with a switch to St James' Park.

The Magpies also need defensive reinforcements with Mathieu Debuchy set to join Arsenal and it is understood they have already entered talks with Feyenoord over Holland international defender Daryl Janmaat.

Transfer Insider: Liverpool And Arsenal Rumours Assessed Plus Chelsea To Raid PSG?

Adrien Rabiot to Chelsea?
However, thankfully the Premier League will soon be here to keep us entertained. That kicks off on 16 August and the summer transfer window is hotting up nicely, so our man in the know gives his verdict on the latest news...

Wilfried Bony – Swansea to Liverpool
Liverpool have made Bony a key transfer target and talks are already well underway to sign him. A fee is yet to be agreed but the Reds are confident of getting their man, with the striker desperate to move to Anfield. (Chances of it happening: 9/10)

Adrien Rabiot – PSG to Chelsea
Rabiot has rejected the chance to sign a new contract at PSG and Chelsea have made a £7million bid for his services. PSG have snubbed the offer but the player wants to move to Stamford Bridge and is now waiting for a new offer to arrive. (7/10)

Lars Bender – Bayer Leverkusen to Arsenal
Arsenal have been chasing Bender for years and interested again this summer. The deal is complicated as he is happy at Leverkusen and they are under no pressure to sell, but if the Gunners made a big bid this could go through. (6/10)

Antoine Griezmann – Real Sociedad to Liverpool
Griezmann wants out of Sociedad and he's a player Liverpool like. A £20million bid being mooted but reports in Spain seem to suggest he's Real Madrid bound unless Liverpool can pull something amazing out of the bag. Let's see. (4/10)

Keylor Navas – Levante to Everton
Everton were linked with Costa Rica World Cup hero Navas this week and while his agent wants to get him a move, a switch to the Toffees is off the cards. Roberto Martinez will be spending his money elsewhere, with Tim Howard firmly the number one. (1/10)

Man United Transfer Boost? Feyenoord Sign Replacement For Red Devil Bound Star

Feyenoord have snapped up former Chelsea defender Khalid Boulahrouz on a free transfer - and that could hand Manchester United a double transfer boost.

The centre-back, who spent the majority of the past two seasons at Danish club Brondby, has signed a one-year deal with an option for another year.

Boulahrouz, who has been capped 35 times for Holland, began his career at RKC Waalwijk before making his name at Hamburg.

His performances at Hamburg helped him land an £8.5m move to Chelsea in 2006, but he struggled at Stamford Bridge, managing only 10 Premier League starts in two seasons before being returning to Germany to join Stuttgart.

The 32-year-old’s arrival in Rotterdam could pave the way for Bruno Martins Indi and Stefan de Vrij, who have both been linked with Manchester United, to leave the Eredivisie club

Khedira to Arsenal latest: €30m deal and the highest paid player at the club

Sami Khedira is being touted for a switch to Arsenal
Following a starring role in Germany’s 7-1 humiliation of Brazil in the World Cup semi final, reports concerning Sami Khedira’s future have gone into overdrive, with the Real Madrid man tipped for a big money move this summer.

Arsenal are just one of the clubs linked with the 27-year-old, but will they land him or will he end up elsewhere?

Highest paid player
The biggest development seems to be the problems that have arisen over Khedira’s current wages in Madrid. The Daily Mail report that Arsenal will need to make him their highest paid player – an idea they appear to be open to – but concede that the club could still look elsewhere in their quest to sign a new central midfielder, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Lars Bender and Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin still being considered.

€30m deal
Sport Bild seem to be keeping a keen eye on proceedings, reporting that Arsenal are preparing a €30m bid for Khedria. However, much like the British media, they also say that in order for the Gunners to secure his services, they will have to make him the club’s highest paid player. Mesut Ozil currently holds that title – earning an estimated €180,000-a-week.

Stalled negotiations
Spanish outlet Cadena Ser have shed more light on Khedira’s current situation, claiming that Arsenal representatives have spoken with his agent over a potential move, but talks have stalled over salary demands. They continue that Arsenal have a transfer budget of €100m for the summer, and with Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy set to arrive at the club in due course, there is plenty of money remaining to land Khedira.

Competition
Khedira’s performance against Brazil looks to have prompted Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho into action, according to the Independent. Seemingly not content on signing Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, the Blues are considering a move for Khedira – who has worked with Mourinho during the latter’s time as Real Madrid manager. At the moment it looks to be just fleeting interest, but given Chelsea’s comparable wealth, Arsenal will be keen to get any deal over the line sooner rather than later.

Arsenal fans, will you land Sami Khedira? Comment below...

Exclusive - Collymore: Naming Messi Best Player Is 'An Absolute Disgrace'

Stan Collymore has labelled FIFA's decision to name Argentina's Lionel Messi the World Cup's best player 'an absolute disgrace'.

Germany beat La Albiceleste 1-0 in extra-time in the World Cup final as the Barcelona star struggled to inspire his nation and there was widespread surprise when the 27-year-old picked up the Golden Ball after the match.

Messi scored four goals in Brazil over the course of the tournament but Collymore was adamant there were others who deserved the award ahead of the Argentine.

"His performance was poor tonight," he told talkSPORT. "We've seen him three or four times now in the flesh and he's been poor in all of them, bar several trademark runs which I think masks a lot.

"It's an absolute disgrace giving him the Golden Ball tonight. You look at players like James Rodriguez, even players like Chile's Alexis Sanchez and Manuel Neuer [they deserve it more].

"He wasn't even the best player in the Argentina side tonight or over the tournament, [Javier] Mascherano gets that vote for me."
